The paper examines the idea of solidarity by looking closer into its political and rights-based dimension. It introduces the transformative potential of critical education and its role in turning educational spaces into an impetus of social awareness, responsibility and civic engagement.

Finally, it reflects upon the pedagogy of discomfort and its significance in mediating the questions of oppression, injustice and solidarity within international youth work.
